At the Youth Investors Association (YIA), our mission to empower young entrepreneurs and investors directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Partners Through our programs, partnerships, and initiatives, we actively contribute to the following SDGs:
SDG 1: No Poverty
YIA works to reduce youth poverty by promoting entrepreneurship and self employment as powerful tools for economic independence. Through our capacity building programs, access to finance initiatives, and mentorship, we help young people build sustainable income-generating ventures that uplift themselves and their communities.
SDG 4: Quality Education
We champion access to practical business and financial education through workshops, training, mentorship, and the YIA Opportunity Desk, a digital platform that connects youth to global learning and development opportunities. Our goal is to equip young Tanzanians with skills that complement formal education and prepare them for real-world success.
SDG 5: Gender Equality
YIA promotes equal participation of young women in business and investment spaces by creating inclusive platforms for mentorship, leadership, and capacity building. We ensure that women entrepreneurs have equal access to opportunities, resources, and representation within our programs and partnerships.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
Our core focus lies here. YIA fosters entrepreneurship and innovation as pathways to decent work, youth employment, and economic growth. By connecting youth to business networks, markets, investors, and funding opportunities, we help them transition from job seekers to job creators, strengthening Tanzania’s private sector and innovation ecosystem.
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
YIA encourages youth participation in building industries of the future through innovation-driven enterprises. We support young innovators with mentorship, exposure, and access to incubation programs that help transform ideas into scalable businesses, contributing to industrialization and technological progress.
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
By advocating for youth-friendly business policies and financial inclusion, YIA works to level the playing field for young entrepreneurs across Tanzania, including those from underserved regions. We ensure that all youth, regardless of background, have access to the same opportunities for growth and success.
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
Collaboration is at the heart of YIA’s approach. We work with government agencies, private sector partners, development organizations, and educational institutions to align efforts toward shared national and global goals. Through these partnerships, we amplify our impact and create sustainable solutions for youth economic empowerment.
